Attraction Marketing, using 1ST class mail; a Great Way to Attract and Retain Customers?
By Jess Porter
Yeah, I know most business is conducted digitally now. I embrace technology myself for business, but what if you want to retain and attract customers? A customized, glossy personalized, mailed out 1st class greeting card, with a stamp and your return address on the envelope, will show that you care and are directing your content one-on-one, between you and your customer(s), not an impersonal batch email or letter, with a “canned” signature at the bottom.
People love attention, and to be noticed. Everyone gets bombarded with emails, phone calls, and 3rd class mail. People like individual attention, and here is a personal prime example of just such a situation.
I few years back, my wife and I needed to replace all our storm windows in our 4 bedroom house. The first person to come, was the President of his company. He answered questions, brought sample windows, pictures, sat down and explained to us for 50 minutes, the whole procedure and cost. The next person to come, measured our windows answered 1 or 2 questions and said he would send us an estimate in the mail a few days later. He was in and out in 15 minutes. Need I say who got our business?
People want to feel special. Through the mail or online, individualizing your sales campaign or marketing process, will give you the best return on your investment, over batch advertising.
The more attention you bestow on a person, the more likely you are to attract and/or retain that person as a loyal customer. Insurance agents have proven this concept works, over many years, with their use of birthday cards.
