Business Networking During the Summer
By Johnny Flynn
Every year I observe a summer slump in business activity. As one would expect, August tends to be the valley of the slump. Of course, vacations and kids out of school tend to be big contributors. So, I encourage a niche minded approach during these slower times. Maybe it is a good time to get to know a few people a little better. Those of us not on vacation may still view summer as a relaxing time…perfect for getting to know some people on a more personal level. Try inviting a business associate to a drink or meal outdoors, practice your golf swing, go hiking, or take someone out on a boat cruise on your local waterway. My point is…take advantage of the outdoors. It is a great way to get to know people on a more personal basis. I am a big believer that deeper personal connections lead to better business relationships. After all, people enjoy doing business with people they like.
The VentureStreet Network supports these networking philosophies. It is a true business to business network. Not a network of people looking for jobs, but a network of businesses interested in working together. You are welcome to learn more about VentureStreet and use the network to find yourself some new business contacts. Look for the "Join Us" link in the upper right of this page, click, and register.
