Buying a Home Tips
By Robert Logue
When buying a new home, especially for a first time home buyer, the process can be quite overwhelming. Before actually making the leap to looking for a home, it would be prudent to speak with a Lending Professional who can pre-qualify the prospective buyer. When this is done, the buyer will know how much home they can afford. In the event that the person does not qualify, a good loan officer will show them the steps they may need to take to improve their credit or pay down debt so that they may qualify.
There are many contributing factors a Lender looks at when making a decision to loan money to a buyer and an experienced loan officer will help you through all of the steps. It's important to have at least two months bank statements, two years tax returns, one months current pay-stubs and a letter of explanation for any credit blemishes that one may have on their credit reports. This will help expedite the loan process.
When purchasing a new home, a home inspection is a good idea even though most Lenders do not require one. A home inspection done by a certified inspector will show any hidden problems that may exist that may not show up on an appraisal.
After someone is pre-qualified, finding the right Realtor is the next step. Getting the right Realtor who is knowledgeable with the market and experienced can make the difference between a smooth and enjoyable buying experience and a home buyers worst nightmare.
Hopefully this will help answer some of the questions that may be involved with buying a new home.
