Creative Genius and Innovator in San Diego, California
By Le Ross
We have creative people all around us and among them are geniuses. I was lucky to meet such a man. His name is Mr. Clifford Wright, President of Bossco International in San Diego, California. He holds 6 dozen patents, nominated several years for Entrepreneur of the Year in San Diego and awarded as one of the Top 100 Inventors in the United States. He is a creative genius, an inventor, engineer and entrepreneur. His story makes you believe that anything is possible and there are people who really do look at the world differently. Stephen Nachmanovitch said it best, the most potent muse of all is our own inner child. When we are children with our live a head of us, we can do or become anything. We look at the world in wonder and possibilities. Our minds absorbing everything, however, some look at the world and consider all the unseen potential while the rest of us only see what's in front of us. There are even a few who can create something from nothing. Mr. Clifford Wright, President of Bossco International in San Diego, California is just such a man.
One of the main people to inspire him was his father. Who worked at a local car repair shop as a mechanic? It was his father's love of fixing vehicles that inspired the young inventor. The young Mr. Wright was fixing vehicles alongside his father or on his own at a very early age. However, by this time Mr. Wright was becoming the creative genius the rest of us would soon get to appreciate.
Mr. Wright attended Arizona State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, fitting for a person who loves all things innovative and mechanical. After college he worked for Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, California. It was here. He invented the first ever Blood Transfusion Oxygen Filtration System and the Oxygen Concentrated Ventilator Gurney with power back up system for critically ill patients. It allowed patients to be transferred from one location of a hospital to another or a separate hospital with full life support all contained inside a medical gurney. Now you will find him in his workshop developing new products for the retail markets; his own company and approximately 5 others. His alliance with friend Mr. P.M. Tam in Hong Kong has led to many new, intuitive products and manufacturing. They have created numerous jobs in both the U.S. and China. Mr. Wright has been nominated several years for Entrepreneur of the Year in San Diego and awarded as one of the Top 100 Inventors in the United States.
When asked how he came up with the name of his company, he said it was from his very special friend and dog, Bossco. Bossco was a Rottweiler and like the breed was very loyal. I looked up the definition in the American Kennel Club's dictionary to get a better understanding what he was referring to. Here is what I found: Rottweiler: robust, powerful, happiest when given a job to perform, he is intelligent and willingness to work hard makes him suitableā¦ devoted companion, strength, agility and endurance. I told Mr. Wright and he said it was exactly how he wanted people to remember both Bossco; the dog and the company. He told me that no matter what happens in his life his father will have played a major role. Even now his wife is his biggest supporter and muse. When asked what he was working on, he laughed and said, changing the world one invention at a time. As Albert Einstein once said, I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. An imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited and imagination encircles the world. I hope this inspires others who look at the world differently to never stop trying to change the world one idea at a time.
