Quiz: Are you getting enough Omegas?
By Deb Villarese
1. Are you taking an EPA/DHA supplement?
2. Do you eat several servings of fish each week?
3. Are you eating your green vegetables- minimum one serving per day?
4. Do you eat plenty of whole grains each week?
If you answered yes to the above questions, then chances are you might be doing well in your Omega consumption, assuming, of course, that you aren't consuming a lot of high fat foods as well as these healthy foods. The average ratio of 2:1 Omega 6 to Omega 3 fats in the American diet can be devastating to our health. The appropriate ratio? Somewhere between 2:1 and 1:1 according to many health experts.
