What Should Be Covered In a Medical Health plan.
By Brian Vann
What a medical plan covers?
Everyone needs a health insurance plan in case you or your family members need medical treatment due to being sick, accident or injured, and have to go to the doctor or the hospital for medical care or treatment. Here is a summary of some of the benefits a medical plan should cover.
Major Medical (Health) Insurance Plan.
Maximum Lifetime Benefit - As long as you can pay the premiums.
Deductibles - What you have to pay before the insurance pay.
Co-payments - For doctor visits, emergency room services, urgent care facilities, and preventive services.
Inpatient and Outpatient services - Includes x-ray, lab, diagnostic services, mri, ct, cancer treatment, and surgery.
Vision - Every 12 months.
Chiropractic Services - How many visits per year.
Prescription Drug Coverage - Prescription deductibles on preferred generic, formulary brand, and non- formulary.
Out of Network Benefits - Deductible maximum per family, coinsurance maximum per family,
Services - Physician office services, urgent care facilities, inpatient and outpatient hospital services.
This is only a summary of a partial description of coverage and does not detail all benefits, limitations, and exclusions.
Supplemental Insurance Plan.
Having a good supplementary Insurance plan to go along with your major medical insurance plan is a plus to the plan, anytime you have to go to the doctor or hospital for medical treatment its going to cost you money, this is what we call out of pocket expense, your health insurance only pay a percentage of your doctor and hospital bill, supplementary insurance will compliment your health plan, and will help pay what your major medical will not pay.
Supplementary benefits should help pay on your deductibles, co-payments, traveling to the doctor or the hospital, pay if an ambulance have to come to pick you up, pay for a motel room if your family need somewhere to stay if you are in a special hospital out of town, pay you if you are out of work due to a sickness or injury because it effect you and your spouse income.
Wouldn't it be nice to have an additional paycheck coming in along with your regular check from work if you are in the hospital for 1 or 2 weeks, don't think your bills is going to stop because you are in the hospital, and will help with everyday living while you are in the hospital.
Insurance plans to provide you and your loved ones with peace of mind.
