What is an electric vehicle charging station?
Electric vehicle charging stations (also known as EV charging stations) are electrical devices that charge the battery of a vehicle. They are commonly seen in shopping centers and gas stations. They look like a gas pump with a large electric plug. The plug is insert into the charging port of an electric vehicle (similar to how one might plug a lamp into a wall). Electricity flows from the station into the vehicle and charges the battery. These stations can also be installed at home or any other location that has access to electricity.
Types of electric vehicle chargers
Early standards (pre-2000) supported three types of AC chargers (Types 1, 2, and 3). Modern standards (post-2017) support both AC and DC chargers (each having a Level 1 and and Level 2).
