Seek a quote from 2-3 reputable contractors who do not sub-contract; but personally perform the work.Understand that NWFA Standard should be used on all work. Ask about insurance. How many years of experience does this contractor have? Floor finishes are like Heintz ketchup there are over 57 varieties.Will those finishes yellow? How durable are they to pets, children and finger polish? How fast does this finish cure.What maintenance will this finish require.Can I wax my floors and if so will my liablity insurance cover accidental falls? Finally make certain all bids are for the same materials.Polyurethane is a less expensive than Bona acrylic urethane.
