Q:
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a company like yours?
A:
Depends on what is being done. Be wary of "shortcuts" and "handymen". I do a lot of business fixing others' mistakes. It is usually safer and easier to take the hard and correct route the first time. Look for a company that takes the time to understand what you're trying to do and makes suggestions instead of nodding and taking a "one size fits all" approach.

Q:
What is the most common type of project or service your company provides?
A:
This varies by season and weather. Pergolas and porches in the spring and summer. Rewiring in Summer and fall. Winter and Spring is usually new construction because it's started when it's warm out. After a large thunderstorm I usually get a service call or two relating to a power surge.

Q:
In what ways is your company environmentally friendly?
A:
There is not much an electrical contractor can do to be environmentally friendly. Suggesting LED's and efficient appliances is always on the table, but the decision is ultimately in the hands of the client. Picking up trash and trying to avoid excessive packaging is the most that can be done in this context. Depending on location, I try to ride my bike instead of driving when giving a quote or doing follow ups that don't require many tools.

Q:
What would you like your customers to know about your company?
A:

I strive to understand what a client wants out of their project and treat it with respect. I've seen many pit-falls and always look the future i.e. functionality, durability, expansion, and serviceability.

What separates your company from the competition?

Q:
Does your company offer discounts to senior citizens or veterans?

Q:
Describe a project or service that your company recently completed (include challenges, costs, and innovative solutions).
A:
A condo in the French Quarter that was wired with aluminum decades ago. With this one, parking was the biggest headache. Planning is very important; there shouldn't be any major challenges if proper pre-planning is done. Between a first meeting and quote submittal I stare at pictures and meditate on what needs to be done. Drawings and spreadsheets are made for later use. This keeps quality, realism, and speed as high as possible. I also stay abreast of new tools and materials in order to accomplish these goals.
