Beachside Getaway
This Beachside Getaway provided interesting environmental and zoning design challenges. This two bedroom cottage with study loft, one car garage on 5 split levels "lives large" on the original cottage's 900 square foot footprint.

Island Home
This home, perched close to the coastal bank, was started as a renovation, but constructed as a new house after discovering limitations and deficiencies in the old house. However, the design continued to reflect the owners' wish to make the house appear timeless, while taking full advantage of beautiful water views.

Pleasant Bay Family Home
This beautiful property was designed around views of Pleasant Bay. The house has generous accommodations for parents, children, and grandchildren. The water edge lawn and pool have ample areas for relaxing and playing. On rainy days the lower floor entertainment area and the barn provide lots of recreational opportunities for the children.

Woods and Water
Part of a family property, this is one of 3 houses, each having a totally different atmosphere because of their location on the site and the individual clients preference. This house, unlike the other 2, has limited water view, and was designed to fit the more wooded lot; the exterior and interior materials express the cozy, woodsy feeling of the site.

Stone Bungalow Renovation
An amazing view of little Pleasant Bay and a charming beach-stone building form the basis of a masterful renovation. Although it would have been more economical to raze the small, one-room bungalow built in 1912, the owners’ commitment to it was strong, so they opted instead to make it the centerpiece for their new home. Two new additions, that abstractly reflect the style of the original building, were added onto separate corners, with all three structures linked together by surrounding outdoor spaces--a welcoming front entrance, sun porch and patio.

“John and Peter are smart, creative, thoughtful and personable architects, who made this whole process so much more enjoyable than we could have imagined.”
Houzz Client Review
“We selected AD after a comprehensive review of ten architectural firms … they emphasized the collaborative process between architect and owner that was critical for us.”
Houzz Client Review
“The added challenge for the architect was that we wanted this renovation to blend seamlessly with the rest of the house and overall design… An enormous amount of time and planning was exercised in selecting materials and the right craftsmen to insure that there was no interruption in going from old to new and new to old. This was achieved by many minor decisions that culminated into the end product: The new master bath and his/her closets work in perfect harmony with every other design element in the original structure.”
