Total Advanced Communications, LLC
TAC Communications, Inc. was founded in 1977 by Tito Cerrati Sr. offering professional sound solutions to both private sector and government projects such as the 34th St. Main Post Office in NYC, West Point Military Academy Parade Grounds, Clinton Castle, J.C. Penny, Woolworth and Woolco stores nationally. He designed and installed back ground music systems to some of the most renowned restaurants in NYC from the Brasserie to the Trattoria. Tito created a new business from his sound engineer background and brought that passion into the prestigious NYC real estate market, providing building communications to some of the most affluent buildings in NYC from the Dakota, to the Majestic to Park Ave and Fifth Ave coops and condos. His work ethic and discipline is the cornerstone of which the company still builds on today. Arthur Cerrati joined his father in 1986 expanding the business into security applications; burglar alarms, fire alarms, computer security, access control and CCTV systems. Some of our projects included Columbia University, Lamont Doherty Geological Observatory and Stevens Institute to name a few. We provided the first of its kind slow scan CCTV and access control in 1990 to multifamily building projects with 20 plus buildings in each of the complexes. Phipps Houses, New Settlement Apartments and Woodycrest Center (the country’s first AIDs Hospice) were showcases for networking before networking was a reality.
In 1996 we branched out into telecommunications services, offering local and long distance service as well as data LAN / WAN services; Frame Relay, ATM and VPN applications. After September 11th we realized the importance of diversified networking and disaster recovery in every business we touched. We provided services to IBM Disaster Recovery Centers, EZ Pass of NJ, The Bond Market, Affiliated Computer Systems, and yes, we even set up Mark Zuckerburg in his first data center in 2004.
By 2004, business branched
