How long will the job take? I try to give a realistic time frame with some cushion for unknown factors. The main thing I try and convey is that a proper job cannot be rushed but dragging out a project is a not in anybody’s best interest.

Just finished a bath renovation where the client did his own demo and reconfiguration for a shower and cut through a floor joist. We had to shore up the sagging area and fix some bent pipes which set us back a day. Fortunately, after explain to the homeowner what needed to be done to ensure a proper bath installation he was fine with the extra cost.
