What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a company like yours?

Research, Research, Research! When calling around for estimates look for a company that will take the time to sit down and explain who they are and what their products are and how they work. I understand in this busy world we live in we just want a price, well if you got sick and needed surgery would just want the price or would you talk to a number of different doctors and find your best course of action? Make sure all decision makers are present, information gets lost in translation. A reputable company wants to be on the same page as their clients. Tell the Contractor exactly what it is you are looking for, don't lie just to get a cheaper price. DO NOT make your final decision on PRICE. You can not get quality labor and quality materials cheap. Ask the company for a copy of their insurance, call their insurance company to verify the insurance is active. Ask for references and CALL them! It does you no good just to have a list of references laying around. Ask the reference questions about the company and materials they used. Were the clients happy? Finally, remember your home is going to be a construction site, it will be messy and dusty but should be cleaned up every night. There will be mistakes made, nobody is prefect, we are human after all. There will be surprises on a job site, when opening up a roof, a wall, taking out a window, etc., we don't know any better than you the homeowner if everything is intact the way it should be so, be ready for the surprise! I wish you all the best on your next home improvement project.
