Q:
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a company like yours?
A:
Materials are a big advantage in what is being used to protect the exterior of your home. So using good quality material is important, but doesn't stop there. The installation can be even more important so choose a company that has had diverse training in many aspects of building. So many siding companies just install the way their daddy taught them and things are changing yearly in materials and techniques that improve the quality of your home. So be sure that whoever you hire to do your job aren't using new guys every season and that someone on the site knows what they are doing and can pay close detail to what others on the site are doing.

Q:
What separates your company from the competition?
A:
What sets Cowboy Carpenter LLC apart from the competition here in the Flathead valley is the amount of years we have in doing siding, knowing and understanding all parts of the building industry, and that the owner is the one that is doing and overseeing the job daily. You don't have to worry about who we hire and if they know what they are doing unlike our biggest competitor. We come in second to the amount of years we have been doing siding and if you want to get technical we come in first with the most experience on the job. The other company may be here for 40 yrs but no one there has the experience in installation that we do.

Q:
Does your company offer a warranty or guarantee?
A:
We offer the manufacturers warranty on all our products, which in many cases lifetime warranty. Our OSI Certification allows the homeowner an additional 15 year warranty on window and door installation that covers the products we use to install against failure. In case of failure OSI pays for damage done to structure, flooring, installed product etc. We offer a year on all installations, but we have been known to fix something 3 years down the road at our cost. Just depends on the situation. Our goal is to have happy customers with a great relationship not just your check.

Q:
What questions do customers most frequently ask you? What is your answer?
A:
Because of the area we are in, we get asked a lot about what to use for fire resistant siding. The answer is basically anything not wood. I would put steel on top of the list, followed by fiber cement then vinyl. Vinyl? Yes, vinyl actually is flame resistant. It does warp and will melt in extreme heat, but it doesn't catch on fire. Wood and manufactured wood products are most susceptible to flames. The top of the list is the manufactured wood products, the chemicals in these products are highly flammable. This is why I believe homes are burning so much faster than they were 40 years ago. Almost all your products in a new home are a manufactured wood product namely OSB.
