Extreme Home Makeover
HOW DDG DESIGN STUDIO INC BEGAN
As a sculptor space excited me, positive & negative space, the tension of objects in relation to each other...interior design was a natural direction.
I soon realized the importance of ones environment, how it impacts the way we feel and that I could make a difference through design.
DDG DESIGN STUDIO began as a sole proprietorship in 2000 and became incorporated in 2014.

Graphite House
DDG is exited to introduce The Graphite House. The traditional cottage is being transformed into a country modern interior blending the two styles to create a unique harmony. The ceilings were exposed to accentuate the warm interior. The house consists of 2 rooms, a kitchen, bathroom, sleep loft. The wall that divided the 2 rooms was removed and replaced with 3 sliding doors leaving the option for an open space or a private space. Photo: Susannah Kelly

Large sunlit addition to house. The beams were exposed to create a contrast and define the separate areas. A 10 foot sliding divider moves between the sitting area and the work space.
The floors were painted in a high gloss white to open up the room and accent the furniture and art objects.

Brunetti Hair Salon, Westhampton Beach, NY
The original space was a long white box, without detail nor lighting. The converted space is warm, well lit, functional and exciting. The space was divided into different sections, styling, color, nails, and retail.

NYC
A gut renovation. The kitchen & dining are in the entry of the apartment, so we moved the door and installed 3 steel square poles to separate the entrance but not close the room. There was room behind the wall so we cut holes for wine storage. The ceiling was dropped, and an access panel was installed for extra storage. The lighting is carefully placed creating a dramatic atmosphere. Photo: Grant Peterson

DDG Design Studio has been my go-to designer since 2001. The performance is consistently excellent and most importantly, issues are addressed quickly. Dyan is a real pro, easy to work with, and a great listener. I recommend this firm highly.

I observed & documented a renovation DDG Design Studio did of a residence in Long Island. During the initial stages of planning the transformation of this home, I was impressed with how diligent the designer Dyan Grey was in handling everything from working with her contractor to choosing materials best suited for the success of the project. Her ability to communicate clearly and direct the entire renovation, which appeared daunting to me, was extraordinary. She consistently demonstrated an unflagging ability to take every challenge & turn it into an aesthetic wonder. Her re-invention of space is thrilling. Her color schemes & material choices are sleek and elegant. Watching Dyan convert a modest old home into a light filled place that retains it's welcoming personality while getting a stunning makeover is the mark of a professional. She creates almost sculptural concepts that lend themselves to a new kind of interior design. This is her signature style.

I hired Dyan to design my 1000 sq ft hair salon located in the Hamptons 10 years ago. She instantly understood my vision for the space, and made it happen in a timely, professional manner....and made it fun! She delivered 100% on every level, exceeded all my expectations and to this day when new clients walk through my door they comment on the design of the salon. From lighting to furniture to space design, I couldn't be happier. Here's an added bonus, 10 years later the design still looks classically current and the materials she chose stood up to a heavily trafficked space. Bravo!!!

Dyan's furniture design work is absolutely beautiful, soulful, and elegant.
Her attention to details and sensitivity towards scale and texture is amazing.
I collaborated with her on a design project which really shows that she's not only incredibly organized and has great managing skills, but she's also very patient and sincere.
Qualities that allows one to trust someone with both professional skills and work morality, which goes a long way.
