Q:
In what ways is your company environmentally friendly?
A:
ENRarchitects began in childhood utilizing reclaimed materials for structures, and has incorporated this conservation mindset through historic home renovations in the 1980's, and in architectural masters degree term papers in the 1990's, which had the material science professors scoffing. By 2002, ENRarchitects were among the first to be LEED certified with the U.S. Green Building Council. ENR architects was the LEED consultant for the City of Calabasas Green Building Standards pilot project, The Summit at Calabasas. Environmental strategies have been incorporated into many of our projects.

Q:
What questions do customers most frequently ask you? What is your answer?
A:
How much will it cost? In terms of construction, ENRarchitects provide initial, rough square foot estimates during the introductory phase, tallied, specific square foot estimates during the conceptual phase, and itemized spreadsheet cost estimates, based upon recent bids, and industry databases during the development phase. Ultimately, bidding contractors provide the most accurate price, but our itemized estimates are typically aligned with the bids.
Our fee structure is based upon an hourly rate average between structural engineering, architectural consulting, and drafting. Fixed prices are provided for the established scope of work, and are based upon the experience and in-house database of similar projects. These prices can be negotiated, depending upon the circumstances.

Q:
Does your company offer discounts to senior citizens or veterans?
A:
ENRarchitects will certainly negotiate discounts with veterans and seniors on an individual basis.
Q:
Describe a project or service that your company recently completed (include challenges, costs, and innovative solutions).
A:
A huge, recent challenge has been a beachside addition to a 1970's 2-story residence. Not only is the salt air an issue for material selection and durability, but we are adding a 3rd story. Without any former plans to refer to, the project was hand measured and inspected. The 3rd story significantly magnifies the seismic considerations, and the revised open plans restricted opportunities for structural components. The result is 300 pages of calculations and a marvelous, open master story with a Kalwall, curving skyroof. Construction begins in Fall of 2019.
