Describe a project or service that your company recently completed (include challenges, costs, and innovative solutions).

A:

We recently participated in a project for a person in a wheelchair. The project involved remodeling a family room to become his new bedroom with adjoining bathroom. Challenges included: keeping the footprint small and not disturbing too much of the original design, making sure he had ample space to move around in both spaces, re-hanging doors to open outward, and making sure he had sufficient grab bar placement. An innovative solution was to place niches in the side of the shower seat, a trench drain in the back of the walk in shower and a niche in a wall near the shower seat to store products within easy reach for this client. Costs for the project were not clear as we were called in to consult and provide drawings.
