What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a company like yours?
|
A:
|
If I were looking for a music teacher for myself, I would look for a school or teacher that auditions its students, and then audition that school or teacher for myself. That means, I would ask the person that I'm about to engage as my teacher to play something for me. If you don't like the way the teacher plays, how can you be happy with your own results?
I would also look for a teacher or school that is involved with the community--local churches, non-profit organizations, professional organizations and associations. A teacher learns by being a student themselves. Look for teachers who are seeking that hands-on connection. The best teachers are also the best students.

Especially since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have had a lot of interest from adults returning to piano playing after years away from the instrument.
Our "Relight the Fires" program for adults is designed to help us find where you are technically and musically as fast as possible, and develop a plan that gets us to your first target. We'll decide on that together. After the first lesson, you'll receive:
A customized lesson plan, defining technical goals, practice habits, and lesson books, and a review of where the your skills are now, and what goals you have for your lessons and progress through them.
We will then work on developing more detail around that, including how to leverage your current skills, how to build up your skills in areas you may not be as strong in, and even a list of the pieces you've got on your wish list.
