What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a company like yours?
|
A:
|
I would suggest you look at the painter's style as a starting point (realistic, cartoon-like abstract, etc) to see if it a style you like. Also, I suggest you get a sense of whether or not the artist will work with you to create your vision.

Dolphin and stingray in the Mermaid Mural
This is a small part of the larger (approx. 8x10 foot) Mermaid Mural . Again, I designed this with the 6-year old girl who was lucky enough to sleep in this peaceful water room, What you cannot see in this picture (I can provide more pics if you want) is the mermaid herself as well as some colorful fish, and a crab.

Stingray Mural
This peaceful mural was painted for a 9 year old girl who loves stingrays. There are stingrays of all different shapes and sizes, and in different depths of the water. She also requested an octopus, squid, blowfish and starfish, which are scattered throughout the 8X10 foot wall. Some little creatures are hiding in the coral or camouflaged, so they are hard to see unless you are close to the mural. I think that makes it interesting.

Superhero Squad Mural (with Spiderman, Wolverine, Ironman, Thor, and Captain America)
This mural was for a 4 year old boy who loves superheroes. We chose the Superhero Squad for this mural, which is a teen version of the superheroes, because they provide a lighter mood for little ones since they are more cartoonish and less angry looking (as superheroes can sometimes look). Their motto is "Hero Up!" so that was included on the wall. We chose to put the mural on the top half of the walls, as it is a furniture crowded room and characters on the bottom half of the walls would have been covered up. The border around the room was meant to resemble the "POW" and "BANG" word borders that often appear around comic superheroes.

Horse Heaven Mural Room
This room is an entire horse and farm themed room for a 9 year-old-girl. The horse pictures is walking through a fence near the girl's bed. There is another life size horse on the other side of the room and several smaller horses in distant pasture. There is a rustic fence on every wall of her room, which changes from close up to a distant fence surrounding a barn. The child was a part of this mural during every step and we designed it together. For example, she wanted the mountains to look like "Colorado snow covered mountains" and she also wanted to have clouds on the ceiling, which are not pictured here.

Hello Kitty Mural
This 7-year-old girl's mural was customized according to her interests. After a lot of discussion she decided that she really loves dolphins and birds, two of her choices were Hello Kitty riding a dolphin and Hello Kitty flying with balloons and a bird (which you can't see in this picture). This lovely girl also loves to sing and play guitar, so Hello Kitty is doing those activities in the other two quadrants.

Coral Reef Mural
This room, which included this coral wall as well as eye-level ocean paintings on the other walls and a colorful sunset, was created for (and with) a scuba diving couple. The entire room took about a month to complete.
