Questions & Answers
Q: What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a company like yours?
A: Q: Should I hire someone to design a logo? A: You will find lots of free DIY logo services. Mostly you’ll get a clip art logo from a database, which everyone else has access to. For creative, unique concepts, hire a real person. Q: How do I find someone to design my logo? How do I get my own business logo? A: If you are reading this, you have already found them! Q: How much does it cost to have someone design a logo? Is $500 too much for a logo design? A: It depends. Our cost for a typical small business logo is $499. The range is anywhere from 0 to thousands of dollars. Don’t pay zero. Seriously. Q: Is it worth paying for a logo design? A: Obviously we think so. Consider the worth of a logo like Apple’s. It is worth over 1 trillion dollars now. Steve Jobs paid $100,000. Pretty good ROI. Q: How many hours does it take to design a logo? A: Typically, around 8 to 12 hours, but that depends on a lot of factors. Also, it’s best to set the project aside for a while to let the sub-conscious work. It is often in places like the shower or doing some other mundane activity where inspiration strikes. Q: Which company is best for logo design? A: Well, ahem, this one. Q: What should a logo designer give you? A: Our minimum is three different concepts, typically many iterations of those. Once the concept is agreed upon, one or two rounds of modifications and minor adjustments are made. The final will normally include a full color version, an all-black, an all-white, with formats for print and screen. Some clients need spot color logos for ad specialties and other reasons. We normally furnish these specific formats: .ai (native Illustrator format for design and video), .eps (This is for printers and even web designers), .png (for PowerPoint and screen use), .pdf for general use. Other formats are easy to make, just ask.

Q: What is the most common type of project or service your company provides?
A: Branding and logo design, including websites.

Q: In what ways is your company environmentally friendly?
A: Working in my home studio, using only my laptop, I have a very low carbon footprint.

Q: What would you like your customers to know about your company?
A: A little bit about me: I am a second-generation designer-art director, working nationwide via the internet. I grew up producing Slurpee cups and other items for my dad as he did projects for the former Southland Corporation (7/11). I was trained by working professionals in college who gave me superb insight into real world business and trade practices. I have since won a few awards and have worked in both ad agencies and “in-house” in corporate marketing departments. I am a member of the local design club, the D.S.V.C. https://dsvc.org/ My claim to fame is the original Blockbuster Videos logo and brand. I am a jack-of-all-trades by experience, but a branding specialist at heart.

Q: What is your company best known for?
A: With over 30 years of experience in logo design and production, my claim to fame is the original Blockbuster Videos logo and brand.

Q: What separates your company from the competition?
A: Mostly, creativity applied to distill your company's brand into a single logo. My rate is low and I am fast because of my experience level. Clients tell me I am easy to work with.

Q: Does your company offer a warranty or guarantee?
A: Not like a car or vacuum cleaner, no. However, I often go off the clock or "no-bill" for time when I have a reasonable client who needs to see something closer to their vision. When the clock is close to the estimated time, I will always warn the client before going over. If more billable time is agreed to, on we go.

Q: What questions do customers most frequently ask you? What is your answer?

Q: Does your company offer discounts to senior citizens or veterans?
A: No one has ever asked, but I would consider it.

Q: Describe a project or service that your company recently completed (include challenges, costs, and innovative solutions).
A: EverData Branding, logo and website. This brand is clean and elegant. I was involved in naming, logo design, web design copy editing and collateral. The company is an energy management service provider, delivering custom solutions to grid operators, generators, and consumers alike. I conceived and animated the original hero video on the website. I chose bold colors and typefaces to represent this brand. This was a novel solution to use bitcoin mining power to offset the municipal power company drops and spikes in energy supply, using all green energy on the EverData side. Line extension was part of the vision, so the name, logo and brand represent more than the initial product offering. They represent a data-driven green earth concept. The website has since changed. The original home page and animation can be seen on my site. https://www.ldeanportfolio.com/#/websites/ The client's review and costs: "Lee is top tier designer. He worked with us to get logo finals, full website from scratch, and branding strategy in a 2 week deadline. The finished product is stunning to our partners and clients and we will continue to engage his services." $1,350.00

Q: Is your company a member of any associations?
A: The Dallas Society of Visual Communications
