Final Lot Grade - Marietta, Georgia
Lot grading is a vital component of new home construction. Residential lot grading involves shaping the land to direct surface drainage away from buildings and adjacent properties for the benefit of property owners. An incorrect lot grade completed by an inexperience operator can cause problems down the road - including damage to your home. A proper final grade should allow surface runoff to reach a natural drainage area, drainage and utility easement, or a stormwater structure.

New Cabela's Store Sign - Acworth, Georgia
Wofford Earthworks, LLC partnered with Henry Graphics Inc. on grading out the area needed to insert a Cabela’s store sign that would be visible from I-75N in Acworth, GA. Henry Graphics had the option to work with either Wofford Earthworks or another local contractor. The other contractor wanted to haul off a mass amount of dirt and build a retaining wall that would cost over $20,000. Thankfully, we had a better idea which allowed for all dirt to remain onsite without the need for a retaining wall. This saved not only money, but time. Henry’s Graphics had less than two weeks to get the sign inserted for the store’s grand opening. Wofford Earthworks completed the project in three days. Using a 200-series excavator, we dug an opening that was deep enough for a trench box that Henry’s was able to use to insert the sign anchors. We then removed the trench box, backfilled around the sign, and final graded the correct slopes and swells for a fraction of the other contractor’s price.

Swale Cut-In - Atlanta, Georgia
A swale is a depression in the ground that is created to collect and subsequently carry rainwater away from a home. It is designed in a way that uses gravity flow to divert rainwater away from the property. Swales are an excellent technique in rainwater harvesting since they not only capture surface runoff, but are also great for nourishing trees and reducing erosion. Swales are often used with ponds, dams, grey water systems, rainwater harvesting, and other water catchments.

Basement Cut-In - Holly Springs, Georgia
Excavation is the first step in the basement construction process. The land is excavated to whatever depth is determined after considering the water table level, the climate, and soil conditions. Trenches are dug for concrete footings, which are needed to provide structural support for the walls. To reinforce the foundation, a steel reinforcing bar is embedded in the concrete to help stabilize the concrete during settling shifts and the mechanical vibration process used to eliminate air pockets.

"Matt was hired to grade our backyard. Extremely satisfied with his price, experience, skill, equipment and estimation of what was required to get the results we needed. Highly recommend his company for your earth moving needs." - Phillip H.
"Matt and his team were true professionals who did an outstanding job (above expectations). We had a large (20-year neglected) neighborhood detention pond experiencing issues from significant sediment accumulation and large tree and vegetation growth. Out of the multiple vendors we interviewed for the project, Matt was the most knowledgeable and professional, making it an easy choice. Their work only exceeded expectations from there. No detail was left unattended to, and they went above and beyond to address a few things that were not in the original scope of work. I was so impressed I immediately hired them for a personal project of leveling my backyard, removing multiple large trees, and preparing an area for the construction of a retaining wall. I strongly recommend Wofford Earthworks for any ground clearing/leveling/altering and/or brush/tree clearing jobs no matter how large or small." - Joe F.
"Rest assure you've made the right decision if you hire Wofford Earthworks. Matt came to my house to give a quote for grading. He was so honest and understood my goals. He let me know that hand grading my area was the best idea, and his machines would not be best for my job. He gave me great ideas and instructions to complete my project, and didn't charge for his time - which I would have happily paid. My only letdown was that I couldn't hire him for my job. I was impressed with Matt's knowledge of landscaping, grading and plants. I could not give a higher recommendation." - Tyson D.
"Excellent earth moving for better than a fair price. I hired Matt to remove some dirt from my property and he suggested we approach the job site next door to see if they wanted our unwanted soil. They ended up wanting the dirt which saved me over $4,000 in soil trucking fees. Wow, he really did me right!" - Michael M.
"Matt was recommended to me by a friend and I could not be happier with the work Matt did. Matt showed up to give me a quote and had so many wonderful ideas that ended up saving me a lot of money. We needed to get our large in the ground pool filled in and the over grown yard graded down. Not to mention he has done this for so long his vision of what needed to be done was so much easier than what we were thinking. Matt quoted me quickly and had me scheduled within about 5 days. I did receive two other quotes that were much higher than Matt for less work. Also, their schedule times were weeks out and Matt went out of his way to get us squeezed into his schedule to meet our deadline. Matt showed up early and stayed late and got the job done in one day. Everyone else quoted us two to three days. My husband told me that Matt was so confident and experienced in his field that he worked his machinery like an extension of his hands. I recommend Matt to everyone." - Karen M.
"Professional and was on time. Quality of work was very good. Would definitely recommend their services" - Sandra M.
"Matt is very knowledgeable in what he does and very professional. Will definitely recommend him and use him in our future projects." - Josh H.
"Matt does great work. He is very good at what he does, communicates well, and shows up when he says he will. I highly recommend Wofford Earthworks for any grading work." - Tom S.

"Matt did an outstanding job leveling our property. We had many large holes from where stumps had been ground and now you cannot even tell there were any holes! Showed up to the job on time, explained the entire process and worked hard until the job was complete. The price he quoted was the price we paid. He even went above and beyond to pick up and spread grass seed on our side pasture. Great job and will definitely be using him again on our next project!" - Brad P.
