A: Hiring professional organizers can be an emotional experience for some. For others it's about getting help to just get things done. Either way it's important to remember that these (often) strangers will likely be going through your personal and confidential belongings in your home or office. They will see things you may not want friends or family to see. Credentials and reputation are critical. You'll want to know if/how the organizers have been trained, if they belong to one of the national organizing associations (such as The National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals, or The Institute for Challenging Disorganization,) if they're Certified or employed by a Certified Professional Organizer, and how long have they been in business. Read reviews in several different venues, including Google, Facebook, and other online directories, where reviews are not controlled by the business. Study websites for specific information like pricing and cancelation policies. Ask to review any contracts prior to committing to your first appointment. Finally, once you've hired someone, if you discover they are not qualified to do the work, you are not obligated to stick with them.

Professional Organizers - Home
- $50.00 to $125.00 per hour
- $250.00 to $500.00 per session (full-day; about 8 hrs)
