Q:
|
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a company like yours?
|
A:
|
Research your home care agency carefully
Pay attention to the motivations of caregivers
Check whether the agency's insurances and licensing are active
How much detail on the caregiver's strengths, success, difficulties will they provide?
Verify the retention rates (tenure - how long with the company) of caregiver
Determine how binding is the agreement you are signing; Can you get out if emergency?
See if short shifts are possible and does the hourly rate change if so.
Does the agency bill only to the "minimum hours" per shift, or do they do accurate visit billing (rounded to nearest 15 minutes)
Are there additional costs (up front deposits, conclusion payments), and are they applied to your normal billing?
Check if the agency can get your loved one prequalified to receive free Aid and Attendance veterans benefits.
Ask for referrals
Do the caregivers have the strength and expertise to perform the tasks you need?
Do they employee caregivers closer in age to your loved one, to best communicate and trust?
