Questions & Answers
Q:
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a company like yours?
A:
Be ready to change, have a burning platform. By this I mean, have a solid reason why you want to use Lean Six Sigma on the business processes you want improved. Why now? (What is the urgency?) and what are the consequences of not changing? This helps both you and I to clearly understand where to focus as well as what success looks like. Your resources/time are valuable and while Lean Six Sigma can be applied on many processes, we want to make sure we are focusing on those that are critical to success of the business, are strategically important, have a powerful customer impact, and will deliver the biggest return on investment.
Q:
What is the most common type of project or service your company provides?
A:
Kaizen Events (3-5 day, full time 5-6 person team, on a focused process improvement area) are the most common type of projects our company profides.
Q:
In what ways is your company environmentally friendly?
A:
We have developed virtual training and coaching offerings that allows us to work remotely so we do not have to fly or drive.
Q:
What would you like your customers to know about your company?
A:
We have developed our own curriculums and can help you not only with the training of your employees but we can also help build a reference library for those belts to use for years to come. We often video tape training courses where clients have stored those videos to help train a broader base of employees on specific areas, tools, or methods at no extra cost.
Q:
What is your company best known for?
A:
We are the owners of the Lean Six Sigma Group on LinkedIn with over 570,000 members. Our Master Black Belt Founder and President was teh first to integrate and deploy Lean Six Sigma as an Integrated methhodogy and so has the largest following on social media networks than anyone else.
Q:
What separates your company from the competition?
A:
Results, we can even garantee an ROI of at least 4 times your investment budget. This is because we have never delivered a Lean Six Sigma deployment with less than a 10:1 Return on Investment (ROI), in fact usually our ROI ranges between $40-$80 for every $1 spent.
Q:
Does your company offer a warranty or guarantee?
A:
Yes, we garerentee a 4:1 Return on Investment for our Lean Six Sigma Deployments where we train, coach, and execute the Lean Six Sigma deployment program at your company.
Q:
What questions do customers most frequently ask you? What is your answer?
A:
Is certification included? Yes, but the requirements will vary depending on the certification level being sought. Most will require completing a certain # of hours in training, passing an exam, and completing a project (demonstrating the application of the tools/methods learned). But often a business may exert additional requirements, for example, they may also want you to take and pass the ASQ exam. (Our trained belts always pass the ASQ exams) or may require you train/coach others belts, or complete a certain period of time in that role to complete the certification.
Q:
Does your company offer discounts to senior citizens or veterans?
A:
Our company works with Sponsors to donate monies to our firm, where we than provide 100% free training to groups of Veterans (usually onsite at a VA Center) or through the unemployment office training room. Usually a training group will range between 25-30 students, we usually do a 3 day training withh a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification. Please reach out to US if interested in sponsoring a training. We add your company name and logo to the certificates, take pictures of all graduating students with your company logo/brand in the background.
Q:
Describe a project or service that your company recently completed (include challenges, costs, and innovative solutions).
A:
We recently deployed Lean Six Sigma at Dell on a Robotic Process Automation process. The developer team was based out of India so the time zone in communication was a challenge. The costs were unclear at first because the cost to develop a Bot (an automated software program) compared to the impact (# of hours gained in productivity to the impacted users) was not well defined. So we implemented improvements in project tracking using PERT estimation technique. One of the innovative solution we implemented was the use of Agile development, a hybrid of SCRUM and Lean Development (LD) to create a more collaborative development model between the customers (users) and the development team.
Q:
Is your company a member of any associations?
A:
We are a member of the American Society of Quality where we run training workshops at BOSCON, the annual Boston Conference ASQ pulls together. We are also members of the Process Excellence Network, a division of IQPC (International Quality and Productivity Centre).
Q:

Q:

The Essence of Leadership - Join the Debate
I was having a chat with one of our online members on the essence of Leadership. The subject of the "Guided Discovery" came up.
The Guided Discovery is based on a principal I hold to be true, which is: “Given the same information, intelligent people having shared values will come to roughly the same conclusions."
I can prove ….
If you have a room full of 30 people; give them each two highway maps of the United States. Without allowing them to talk or exchange notes, instruct each to pretend they are in Kansas City (right in the geographic middle). Inform them that they are to take a vacation and can drive anywhere on the map they want, and take as long as they want. Cost is not an object. Now have them trace the route they would follow. Again, allow no discussion or looking over each other’s' shoulder.
Give them a minute, and then have them hold up their maps. What you will see is that even though they started in the same place, they

What does a good Strategy Execution Plan looks like?
i-nexus has developed this infographic detailing our best practice in Strategy Execution. http://www.i-nexus.com/infographic-strategy-execution.html
With strategy execution being such a hot topic, we have given thought on "What constitutes a Strategy Execution best practice." The ideas captured in this infographic are gleaned from the work we’re doing, helping complex organizations (our customers), to become more competitive through effective strategy execution.
We’d love to have your feedback (Please Comment) to help us to improve the "Strategy Execution" best practice guide (under construction) and really turn it into something that can potentially be used as a simple template.

Testimonials
Vanessa Lovatt
Managing Director - IQPC LSE
"Steven Bonacorsi is probably the best connected Lean Six Sigma person that I know! Most importantly though, he's keen to put his connections to good use and the grow sharing of L6S best practice on a global scale. My team and I have learnt a huge amount from Steve when it comes to developments in this community and I have no doubt that we will continue to do so in the coming months.
Anybody who's anybody in this community will have met Steve along the way - if you aren't connected with him yet you should be!"
July 7, 2011, Vanessa was with another company when working with Steven at International Standard for Lean Six Sigma (ISLSS)
Jim Bowie
Founder & President at Roxtar Consulting
"Steven Bonacorsi is a global business leader. His passion for performance improvement is only matched by his skill - and both exceed the highest standards. His experience and his expertise are a powerful combination that every organization needs, and those that have been fortunate enough to secure his services have advanced well beyond their own expectations. Steve has tremendous vision and capability, and his leadership inspires others to do and become more."
August 12, 2011, Jim reported to Steven at International Standard for Lean Six Sigma (ISLSS)
Kimberly Groppe
Consultant at Resources Global Professionals
"I had the pleasure of working with Steven on a Lean Six Sigma project at Universal American regarding the Part D rebate program which invoiced over $1 billion annually to approximately 60 manufacturers.
Steve provided indepth training on Lean Six Sigma tools such as FEMA, RACI, SIPOC, etc. He worked with every individual to ensure that each team member had a strong understanding of the tools and was incorporating the tools into thier jobs to ensure that the project goals were being met. Steve went above and beyond on this project by stepping in to complete tasks for team members that were falling behind due to other commitments. His drive and commitment to holding team members to their due dates helped to make this project a success. The end results was over a $13 million savings."
May 17, 2011, Kimberly was Steven Bonacorsi's client
Venkatesh Upadrista
Senior Director & Account Executive at Capgemini
"In just a few months of my association with Steven, I have found him to be the finest brains in the world who have diverse knowledge not only in the area of Lean/Six sigma but into other areas of Process Consulting and Technology.
He is a very detail oriented person which I was able to understand after he passed on my book review and I get that he has grasped the whole content of my book, as otherwise no one will be able to give such a detail review. This makes me differentiate Steven from other leaders in the industry, who always had given 50,000 feet level advices to others but Steven gets into micro level details without keeping time as a constraint and hence his advices are always accurate.
I also heard about Steven Bonacorsi from some of my friends at GE and understood that he was the master-brain behind some very key innovations in the company.

"I have been connected to Steven Bonacorsi for many years now on LinkedIn and can confirm like many others he is the advocate of Lean and Six Sigma in this social media network. I usually follow his discussions and try to learn from it and (re)apply his ideas. I think he is very is approachable (despite being a busy professional) and always finds the time to help others like me find their way. Steven serves his network community extremely well with very high standards, knowledge and expertise and for those who want to find new challenges his network gives guidance as well. I therefore highly recommend Steve as an expert, and as someone who will always find a way to help the people that ask for his help."

Angelo A. Mascia
Manager Group Billing at EnvisionRxOptions
"Steve Bonacorsi was brought in under recommendation of Michelle Brown, Universal American’s VP of Corp Performance Improvement, to lead a continuous improvement Lean Six Sigma event for our Part D Rebate program. Our rebate program $1B in annual invoicing from over 50 manufacturers.
During long hours spent with Steve working through our operations, Steve was the consummate professional. Who brings a length and breadth of experience and life-long education. He was able to keep our team focused on the vision of what our operations “could be” by using real world examples from successful results driven projects that he either led or participated in the past. He is also a strong leader, who is quick to challenge any member of the team, and prove with empirical data how “change” is needed to meet “Team” goals.
I recommend Steve as a proven results driven leader for continuous improvement projects."

Publisher at CacaoAuthority
Steven's seriousness and professionalism in implementing the Six Sigma processes make him an extremely pleasant partner. Despite his deep knowledge and respect for the somewhat "dry" rules of 6 Sigma he is able to create a warm team spirit that transforms everyone into an over-achiever.
Steven is an impressive professional whose expertise and team spirit allows any team to perform at 110%!
Needless to say he is an enormous asset for any organization determined to improve.

Poka Yoke Mistake proofing is a technique for eliminating errors. It is based upon the premise that it is good to do something right the first time; it is even better to make it impossible to do it wrong the first time. The idea is to make it impossible to make a mistake. You may also hear the term, Poka Yoke or Error Proofing applied to mistake proofing.

Lean Six Sigma in a Tight Economy? I have personally seen that senior management in many organizations view Lean Six Sigma as another quality improvement initiative or flavor of the month. We are often told by many engineers and managers in small and big companies that there is nothing really new in Lean Six Sigma compared to other quality initiatives we have witnessed in the past.
